Joint HEP/Theory Seminar: Neutrino oscillation and scattering measurements with NOvA

NOvA is a two-detector, long-baseline experiment designed to measurethe rate of electron neutrino appearance in the narrow-band, off-axisNuMI beam of muon neutrinos. We will discuss recent results from thejoint analysis of muon neutrino disappearance and electron neutrinoappearance. The dataset includes 9.48e20 protons-on-target, all withthe beam in neutrino running. Additionally, we will cover a crosssection analysis of neutral pion production in charged current events,measuring the differential kinematic distributions in suchinteractions. This interaction channel is a background to electronneutrino appearance searches and is thus very relevant to current andfuture oscillation experiments.
